Nottingham Trent University (NTU) have confirmed that face to face teaching will stop from March 16 and online teaching will start from March 23.
In a statement by Vice Chancellor Edward Peck, he confirmed that the change is effective immediately due to coronavirus concerns.
“At Nottingham Trent University, we have been monitoring our situation with regard to Coronavirus closely, preparing to take appropriate action as the position changed,” he said.
“We judge we have now reached the point where it is in the best interests of our community to start transitioning to online learning as a precautionary measure.”
“The University will remain open, but all face to face teaching will pause from close of play today, Monday 16th March. Online learning will commence from Monday 23rd March,” he continued.
All NTU students will receive further information in the next few days regarding their course and upcoming assessments.
It is thought that online teaching will continue until Easter, and may extend until summer.
