25 years ago, The Sims changed the way we all gamed forever. From building your dream house to dealing with the chaos of burning a grilled cheese, it became a phenomenon that shaped countless childhoods – like mine.
This Throwback Thursday is something special as EA has given the fans what they wanted: The Sims 1 and 2, as well as all expansion packs, are available for purchase once again! For those who also grew up with pixelated green diamonds floating above our Sims’ head, this is the jackpot!
I still remember the thrill of playing Sims for the first time with my sister as we would make silly choices and obsess over “cheat codes” like Rosebud and, later on, motherlode just so we could buy the biggest house.
When Sims 2 and 3 came along with their rich generational gameplay and unforgettable family drama, my love for simulation games kept growing.
I immediately purchased the Legacy Collection, as it includes both games, and I was instantly thrown into a time machine by my younger self, who would be scared when the burglar would come or when the aliens would take my Sim away.
