As any DC fan will know the much anticipated Justice League movie was released on 17th November. I attended a midnight showing so I was one of the first to see it, and here’s what I thought…
Batman (Ben Affleck) puts together an alliance of superheroes when the world needs them most. Together, Batman, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aqua Man (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) need to defeat Steppenwolf, who threatens to conquer the planet. There is also a mystery superhero who joins Justice League. I won’t ruin the surprise but it’s not hard to guess who it is.
The movie was excellent. Action packed from the very beginning and gripping too. The only downside, it’s two and a half hours long, which felt much too drawn out.
The main message of the film was that there is always hope. This is a very important message to hold on to, especially in the world we live in today. So, although superhero movies are essentially an opportunity for some escapism, there are serious messages to take from them too.
The soundtrack can’t be faulted; including songs by Jack White and an amped-up cover of a Beatles classic, Come Together.
DC fans won’t be disappointed with this movie, which is loads of fun and introduces new characters, which no doubt will lead to spin off movies too. Just a tip, look out for the two post credit scenes at the end of the movie.
