This month, PlayStation Plus – PlayStation’s monthly subscription service, is releasing three new free games for its members to download and enjoy.
PS Plus, alongside providing new games to download, also allows players to access online multiplayer gaming, exclusive PlayStation Store discounts, 100GB of cloud storage for game saves and bonus content such as skins and in-game items.
The brand-new PlayStation Plus gaming content was launched on Tuesday October 5, and will be available for members to download until Monday 1st November. This month’s games include Hell Let Loose, available on PS5, PGA Tour 2K21 available on PS4 and Mortal Kombat X, also available on PS4.
Hell Let Loose available on PS5
This multiplayer tactical first-person shooter is up for grabs this month. Immerse yourself in the life of a soldier with the game’s big-picture strategy and maps that perfectly capture the devastation of war.
You will find yourself fighting through a timeline of more than nine iconic battles such as Omaha Beach, Carentan and Foy, situated on the Western and Eastern Fronts of World War II. Hell Let Loose takes place in to-scale maps of real battle locations, created through an archive of ariel photography and satellite imagery to create the most accurate representation possible.
The game features a massive 50 vs 50 multiplayer battle across the ever-evolving front line, with bridges, forests and towns seen throughout the many to-scale maps. Hell Let Loose was crowned as ‘The best World War II shooter for years’ by Gamestar.
PGA Tour 2K21 available on PS4
Ever dreamt of a Golfing career? If so, this game is for you.
This sports simulation game lets you take on PGA Tour Pros in accurately replicated tour courses, including TPC Sawgrass, East Lake Golf Club and more throughout your very own golf career, while earning gear and rewards along the way. You will enjoy competitions against Justin Thomas and 11 other top pros in real-world scenes, bringing the fairway, green, bunkers, trees, lakes, and ponds to life with the game’s slick graphics.
With the PlayStation Plus subscription, players can enjoy personalised matches against their friends and other players from around the world with the ability to play in both local and online competitions.
Mortal Kombat X available on PS4
In the sequel to Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat X takes place 25 years later. In this one-on-one action fighting game for the first time in the Mortal Kombat series, players can choose from multiple character variations, impacting both strategy and fighting style. This never seen before aspect and the addition of character-specific attacks creates a whole new element of personalisation to the game.
Similar to previous games in the series, Mortal Kombat X consists of gameplay between two players, either a friend through both local play and online or the CPU.
Additional game modes include:
- Story mode – classic gameplay taking place 25 years after Mortal Kombat.
- Tower mode – defeat opponents, climb the tower and reach the top for the final battle.
- Krypt – travel around areas in first person, unlocking in-game items as you explore.
The Mortal Kombat series also won the ‘Best Fighting’ category at the game awards last year, beating the likes of Street Fighter and One Punch Man.
Make sure to access these games through PlayStation Plus before they leave the platform on Monday 1st November.
