Beat The Streets aiming to “smash half a million” raised for charity after 2025 festival

The annual Beat The Streets festival will return to Nottingham on January 26 – with organisers hoping to raise a total of £500k for charity.

Since starting in 2018, the festival has raised money for Nottinghamshire charity Framework, which provides housing, employment, and rough sleeping support to thousands of people across the East Midlands.

Matt Newton, Marketing Manager at organisers DHP family, revealed that the team’s biggest goal is to beat their current total of £491,000 and surpass the 500k mark raised since the festival started in 2018.

Expectations for 2025’s event are high with a whopping £81,600 raised last year.

Festival goals

30-year-old Newton told Platform: “We want to smash that half a million mark. That will be an amazing milestone so that’s definitely the main goal.

“And again – to reach that £70k mark [from 2024’s festival].

“We’re hoping to just mainly help raise awareness as well, and have a really great day for everyone who comes – and to discover loads of local new music as well.”

What to expect

The first set of artists playing the charity fundraiser festival in 2025 has been announced.

Heavy metal crowd-pleasers Evil Scarecrow will play alongside Nottingham’s very own JayaHadADream, who recently played Glastonbury 2024 after winning the festival’s Emerging Talent Competition.

Festival organisers plan to announce plenty more artists and expect over 50 artists to perform at this year’s festival.

Newton added: “The festival is just a different sort of vibe because you know you’re doing good.

“Everyone who’s there is there to give to charity and all the money from the bars goes to charity, which definitely helps with making people merry – so it’s just a really good atmosphere.

“Because it’s local musicians, there’s no egos and everyone’s just happy to take part. I think everyone always leaves feeling really happy.”

When and where

Beat The Streets Festival returns to Nottingham for the seventh year running on January 26. Local musicians will be performing at Rock City, The Bodega, Stealth, Rescue Rooms, and Rough Trade, with all proceeds from tickets, bar, and merch going directly to Framework.

Tickets to Beat The Streets Festival have a starting donation price of £15 and are available to buy here.
