Breakups are no easy task. Whether you’ve just been dumped, been the dumper or have played the role of the consoling friend who desperately tries to wipe away tears all whilst the two of you miserably consume the third bar of Galaxy chocolate…
As 2018 draws to an end, it has been yet another year where breakups have been hot topic in the pop culture scene, with some of our most beloved celebrity couples calling it quits on their relationships. The most recent ‘victims’ of heartache have been Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson who just this week called off their engagement but notably other stars such as MIC’S new parents Binky and JP and most of this year’s Love Island 2018 crew have all proved that breakup season is most definitely in the air.
Heartbreak is individual and very personal and unfortunately there is no one set ‘cure’ to help overcome it immediately. However, with time, support and a good old Spotify playlist consisting of timeless classics (Ne-yo, I love you), music can empower and uplift, making it one of the most effective ways to help get over a breakup.
So, grab your best friend, a speaker and get listening to my pick of essential breakup songs.
