Former Black Midi lead guitarist and vocalist Geordie Greep is bringing his brand new solo show to Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms this week.

This tour is in support of his latest release “The New Sound” which came out this month to favourable reviews.

Since Greep announced the hiatus of the experimental rock outfit Black Midi back in August during an Instagram livestream, a string of singles were released, starting with the samba-infused “Holy, Holy” and ending with the funk-ladened, prog-rock-inspired album opener “Blues”.

Sam Frazer of Silent Radio said: “Jammed full of the frenetic yet somewhat controlled energy of Black Midi, Geordie Greep says a lot with this record, and that is that he is free to explore all the ideas he wants to, and to me, it works perfectly!

“Whether you have never heard of Black Midi or Geordie Greep, this album is an amazing start to that journey, all I can say is get ready for the ride it takes you on.”

With a full live band consisting of up to 10 people on stage at any given time, it can go without saying that Greep will bring the energy and experience that an album like this deserves.

He is playing gigs across the UK and Europe, playing venues in Leeds, Liverpool, Glasgow, Cambridge, and Bristol to name but to name a few.

Links to tickets for the show in Nottingham on Wednesday (Oct 30) are available at the Rescue Rooms website.
