First wave of acts announced for Nottingham’s Beat The Streets festival 2025

The first set of artists playing Nottingham’s Beat The Streets charity fundraiser festival in 2025 has been announced.

The annual event will see more than 30 artists take to stages across venues in the city centre on Sunday, January 26 to raise money for rough sleepers.

Heavy metal crowd-pleasers Evil Scarecrow have been announced alongside Nottingham’s very own JayaHadADream, who recently played Glastonbury 2024 after winning the festival’s Emerging Talent Competition.

Riding The Low – the musical side project of actor Paddy Considine – and NTU Confetti’s own Airport Dad are among the other artists who will perform at the event

Since starting in 2018, Beat The Streets has raised around £500,000 for Nottinghamshire charity Framework, which provides housing, employment, and rough sleeping support to thousands of people across the East Midlands.

Money raised from the 2023 festival went towards the building of eight purpose-built flats in Forest Fields, which now houses long-term rough sleepers.

In previous years, funds from the event have kept the charity’s emergency winter shelter open all year round.

Framework’s Chief Executive, Andrew Redfern, said Beat The Streets helps the charity maintain its work amidst “a gap of £99,000 which remains to be filled.”

He says this is likely to get worse due to the recently announced rise in Employer National Insurance – taxes employers, including charities, have to pay on top of employee’s wages.

“The homelessness crisis is worsening, and the number of people sleeping rough in Nottingham and elsewhere continues to rise,” he said.

“The importance of funds raised at Beat the Streets to maintain our work with rough sleepers becomes ever greater.”

Artists will play across venues Rock City, Rescue Rooms, The Bodega, Stealth, and Rough Trade throughout the day, with all proceeds from tickets, bar, and merch going directly to Framework.

Tickets are priced at a minimum donation of £15 and are on sale now. Additional donations can be made at the time of purchase.
