Celebrating the release of their latest single, ‘Don’t Mention My Name’, we spoke to the electropop sensations ahead of their forthcoming debut album.
Vocalist Soleil and producer Igor started making music together as the final project for Igor’s masters degree. With a DIY approach to music, they write, produce and record everything from their home studio. Effortlessly blending different genres such as electro, indie, dance and trap, they hold a certain uniqueness that continues to impress release after release.
Their latest release ‘Don’t Mention My Name’ sits on a foundation of a solo guitar melody which bursts into a bouncy chorus of bold synths; it’s deliberately simple in its essence yet atmospheric in its final form. Speaking on the track, REYKO shared: “The song tries to capture the feeling of constant anxiety and paranoia that we deal with in the times we live in, provoked in our everyday life by social media, fear of missing out, loneliness, politics, etc.”
The track is accompanied by a visual piece which aims to reflect the nature of modern-day paranoia, which sees REYKO performing in a small confined space, with psychedelic silhouettes, images and colours.

How did REYKO meet?
REYKO started as Igor’s university final project. He needed a singer to write and record music with in order to finish his masters degree in music production. After we did a few songs we were both clear that we needed to keep going and form a band.
What’s your creative process when it comes to writing and producing music?
It could come from different places really: a melody we like, a cool lyric hook, or a nice beat. Then we just develop and build the whole track together organically.
Are there any particular artists or albums you’re inspired by?
We like Khalid’s first album, also Troye Sivan and Billie Eilish.
What can we expect from your debut album?
A handful of songs that show the things we’ve been going through in the past year and a half, that hopefully people could relate to!
What’s the meaning behind your new single “Don’t Mention My Name”?
We’ve tried to capture the feeling of anxiety we all feel these days caused by social media, FOMO, politics, etc…
