Midnight on Thursday saw the release of two new songs by our favourite trio the Jonas Brothers, and the second single released, Five More Minutes shows a more chilled, softer side to the band…
If you are looking for a more laidback and relaxed single to jam to then Five more minutes is the one for you. A song that is the opposite of X, the Jonas Brothers explores wanting to spend more time with the one you love.
The slower tempo of the song allows you to really endure the lyrics and apply your own feelings and meaning to them. The lyrics: “Give me five more minutes/ Baby I’m not finished loving you/ I don’t wanna end it when we’re only just beginning.” could be a message of pleading for someone to stay or just wanting to hold your loved one for that little bit longer. Either way, it is still a song that is suitable for listening for times where you want to reminisce and appreciate those who you love.
Although it may not be a song which you can dance to, it is still a song that makes you think just that little bit deeper through the times we are living in. It shows how good the craftsmanship of the Jonas Brothers really is because they provided us with two complete opposite songs, yet both still makes us want to get up and dance and think about the love we want to hold on to.
The only thing that takes to get used to this song is it seems like it takes five minutes to really get into the song. The intro does start off a bit slow and may nearly make you want to turn it off, but once it gets to the chorus, the song picks up the pace and contains the lyrics that make the song catchier.
Ultimately, Five More Minutes may be slower paced to X, it remains one of the songs that gives you the more chilled vibes to help you relax and make you think more about the ones you love around you.
