Nottingham’s Cineworld has cancelled showings of Blue Story along with other venues of the chain in the East Midlands after a 20 year old was stabbed on Sunday evening at the complex (1 December).
Six auditoriums have been closed in the Nottingham branch, with all showings except one being axed today.
There are still listings for the film which are being shown later in the week.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and causing grievous bodily harm.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
Superintendent Ross Cooke, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our officers have acted quickly to establish the circumstances around this incident leading to two arrests and the recovery of a knife.
“Isolated incidents such as this are incredibly serious and as a force we are committed to ensuring that appropriate action is taken to keep people safe and bring to justice those responsible.”
This is not the first time the film has been cancelled, Vue Cinemas withdrew Blue Story after seven police officers were injured in an attack with a machete at the Star City multiplex in Birmingham.
The film was later reinstated by Vue Cinemas.
Anyone with information which may help the investigation is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 804 of December 1.
