A Nottinghamshire mum has thanked organisers of a music fundraiser gig which raised over £25,000 for her son’s disability charity.
Charity organisation Nottingham Hot Property held their yearly music fundraiser event at Nottingham PRYZM on November 17.
The event sold over 800 tickets and raised over £25,000 for Footprints Conductive Education Centre, a charity that empowers families with disabled children and supports children with mobility and communication difficulties.
Ecommerce executive Jennie Rose, 37, from Kirkby in Ashfield expressed her gratitude for the music fundraiser, with her three-year-old son Quinten regularly attending conductive education sessions at Footprints for his cerebral palsy.
She said: “It’s so great that Hot Property picked our charity this year.
“We’re so lucky because I know that there are lots of families across the UK that don’t have a charity which provide these types of sessions to go to.
“The cost of private physiotherapy is roughly £100 an hour, so without Footprints it would cost us around £800 a month to get the equivalent therapy, which is way beyond what we can afford.”
She continued: “Any kind of money that can be raised to help and just raise more awareness is brilliant.”
Jennie and Quinten began their journey with Footprints soon after Quinten’s diagnosis at the age of 13 months.
“We’ve been going for the past two years, and I’ve been getting to know the families and their children.
“Quinten has made some life-long friends, and so have I too.
“We’re just so grateful for organisations such as Hot Property which make such a positive impact on charities such as Footprints which is donation based.
“It really does make all the difference.”
Hot Property trustee Siobhan Goodacre said: “Footprints ticked all the boxes for us which is why they are our charity of choice for this year’s fundraiser event.
“We enjoy doing it because every year we try to pick small charities where we can see that our donations will have a big impact, and obviously when we look at charities like Footprints, in terms of the donation size, I hope that this will make a huge difference to the services they provide.”
Nottingham Hot Property is run by members of the property and construction industry within the East Midlands and has been running since 2004.
Last year the charity raised £19,000 for cancer charity, Billy’s House.
Footprints have said that they will utilize the money to grow and develop the services they provide and continue to transform children’s and families’ lives.
