Here’s how you can put your name forward in NTSU elections

Nominations for positions in the Nottingham Trent Student Union are now open.

Students at Nottingham Trent University can nominate themselves for a range of positions.

These include: President, VP for Education, VP for Postgraduate, VP Community and Welfare, VP for Opportunities and VP for Sport.

A number of part time positions are also available.

Students can nominate themselves by going to the NTSU website and finding it in the elections section.

Once roles are open, students will be able to see what roles they are eligible for.

There will be a full role description to describe what the role entails.

Students will then have to write a short manifesto, pledging themselves to what they hope to achieve if they are elected.

Students will then be able to campaign on this manifesto.

If students are nominating themselves for a full time role, they will need to take a year out of their studies.

If students are nominating themselves for a part time role, they are able to do this alongside their studies.

Full time positions will be paid. Part time positions are not paid.

The nomination process will close on Friday, February 26 at midday.

After that, a short campaigning process will start.

Nominees will be able to participate in virtual Q&As.

A full timetable of events can be found on the Studentā€™s Union website.

Voting will start on Friday, March 12 at 7pm and closes a week later on Friday March 19 at 5pm.

The results of the election will be announced later that night.
