Hundreds of volunteers are preparing to brave the night in cardboard shelters at Framework’s annual Big Sleep Out, this Saturday night.
The Big Sleep Out will be hosted at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground behind the Brian Clough stand.
Framework Fundraising Manager Andy Shields said: “This is the second time the Big Sleep Out will be held at the City Ground and we are delighted to be back.
“Taking part in the Big Sleep Out is the perfect way for people to raise awareness of this issue and help us to tackle it. Every penny raised will be used by us to reach out to homeless people and get them off the streets.”
Dozens of people sleep rough in Nottingham every single night – in alleyways, doorways, tents and abandoned buildings and many other places besides.
A Nottingham Forest spokesperson said: “We are determined to help raise awareness about homelessness in the city and hope our supporters and the people of Nottingham will again turn up in record breaking numbers to help raise vital funds for our local charity partner Framework.”
The money raised will help Framework’s Street Outreach Team to help rough sleepers off the street and to address their increasingly complex physical and mental health needs.
Framework is a charity delivering housing, health, employment, support and care services to people with a diverse range of needs.
