Crowds are expected to gather in Nottingham city centre this afternoon to protest against police violence, gendered violence and the controversial police bill.
The protest, organised by Next Gen Movement on Facebook, is expected to have around one thousand attendees.
Beginning at four o’clock this afternoon (Saturday, March 27), large crowds are set to descend on the green space in order to peacefully protest against the controversial Police and Crime Bill.
Attendees have been encouraged to bring a “mask, placards and something to bang”.
The Next Gen Movement also organised the Black Lives Matter demonstration that took place last year.

A statement on their Facebook page said: “The government have announced its plans to crack down on the freedom to protest.
“The police, crime, sentencing and courts bill will give the Home Secretary, Priti Patel, powers to create laws to define ‘serious disruption’ to communities and organisations, on which police can then rely to impose conditions on protests.”
