Women are set to march through Nottingham today (November 27) in an effort to challenge male violence against women and girls.
It comes after a 2021 investigation by UN Women UK found that 97% of women aged 18-24 have been sexually harassed.
The Reclaim the Night march, which begins at 7pm, will see crowds travel from the Blend Cafe in Sneinton Market to NTU’s Dryden Centre.
It will be followed by a variety of speakers, including Nadia Whittome, MP for Nottingham East.
The organisers said on Instagram: “Today’s the day; get your placards ready and warm up those vocal cords!
“We can’t wait to see you later to take to the streets of Nottingham demanding an end to violence against women.”
White Ribbon representatives will also be present to speak to any men who want to get involved in the fight against gender-based violence.
