Man of Medan, the new game from the developers of Until Dawn, will feature two new multiplayer modes.
The first game in the Dark Pictures horror anthology will support online multiplayer for two players and local co-op for up to four players.
Fans of games such as Detroit: Become Human, The Walking Dead and of course Until Dawn will be ecstatic to hear that publisher Bandai Namco and developer Supermassive Games have joined forces to make an interactive drama they can experience with friends both locally and worldwide.
The online co-op mode will allow two players to team up online and play throughout the story simultaneously.
Both players will be able to make choices that affect the characters and decide the outcome of the spooky tale.
The two players will see events from either very similar perspectives or entirely different ones, including unique information, locations, interactions and – most importantly – scares.
The ‘movie night’ mode allows players to team up locally and progress through the story together as the four characters in each adventure.
Each player will have the option to enter their name and then decide which character to play as.
To increase the social nature of the session, all participants will have to share just one controller, passing it back and forth like a scary game of hot potato.
The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan arrives August 30 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
