Nottingham city centre is set to display over 30 stunning immersive and interactive light installations.
Light Night is back, taking place from February 28 to March 1.
A variety of family-friendly activities for the kids, as well as dreamy art exhibits perfect for a romantic date night, are available.
It is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and organised by the It’s in Nottingham BID and Nottingham City Council.
City centre venues such as Nottingham Castle and St Marys church are hosting exciting events throughout the weekend. We’ve rounded up some of the best ones to go to.
Orbit at Nottingham Castle
The castle’s stunning architecture will have an immersive projection displayed onto the wall. The production will ‘time-travel’ visitors through worldly history, from aerospace to humankind explanations. Each evening will be opened with Inspire Youth Arts young musicians, who will perform at the castle’s bandstand. Visitors can expect the show to open from 6-9:30pm on both days.

St Mary’s Church
Located in Nottingham’s iconic Lace Market, the church will have spectacular light sculptures and projection art for spectators to see. The Children’s Choir of St Mary’s will also be performing throughout the night, providing an atmospheric accompaniment. It’s worth noting that this event is only on March 1, so make sure to head to this one on Saturday evening.

Nottingham Buddhist Centre
Visitors will be spoilt for choice between venues, particularly at the Nottingham Buddhist centre. A transformational light session will be held from 6-9pm on both Friday 28 and Saturday 1. The centre, itself will be lit up with illuminated projections. As well as this, there will be Vegan treats and refreshments to tuck into, whilst donating. All donation proceeds will go towards the centre to help towards their giving month appeal.
