Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued students a reminder about fire safety after they were called out twice in two days to a student accommodation site.
Officers were dispatched to Nottingham Square, Russell Street, on September 23 and September 24 as a result of false alarms.
The first call-out, at 1:36am on September 23, saw officers attend as a result of an alarm being raised due to an incense candle.
At 6:05 pm the following day officers returned to Nottingham Square, managed by Homes for Students, after cooking fumes activated the alarms.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire Rescue Service said: “We would like to remind students to be aware that fumes and smoke can easily set off the alarms.
“Each false alarm we go to potentially takes firefighters away from a real fire or serious incident or, at the very least, the training or prevention work they could be doing.”
Homes for Students were approached for a comment.
