The Students’ Union is collaborating with NTU to raise awareness of sexual violence in February.
The organisers will host a panel talk and a number of workshops to highlight the support available in the local community.
Students will be wearing denim on Wednesday, February 3, to show their support for survivors of sexual abuse.
Anyone who wants to get involved can do so by uploading a photo of them wearing denim to Instagram Stories and using the @trentsu tag.
A spokesperson for the event Katrina Daoud, said: “NTU is proud to partner with NTSU for our fourth consecutive year of running events for the national Sexual Violence Awareness Week in the U.K.
“This is an opportunity to raise awareness about sexual violence, celebrate the accomplishments of our student volunteers who work to prevent violence from occurring, and increase exposure to the support we can offer our students.
“We encourage students to have a look at the website and come along to any of the virtual events we have planned this year.”
The programme will include:
- Monday, February 1: Consent workshop
- Tuesday, February 2: Bystander intervention workshop
- Wednesday, February 3: Let’s talk sexual health and consent
- Thursday, February 4: Sexual violence awareness week panel
