Two men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of 20-year old Nottingham Trent University student Arjun Singh.
Despite public speculation, the police are not treating the incident as knife-related.
A total of three men have been arrested and are held in custody in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector at Nottinghamshire Police, Richard Monk said: “Both men have been arrested on suspicion of murder as part of our inquiries into this tragic incident.”
Arjun died in hospital on Sunday 19 after an assault in Nottingham city centre around 4am.
Arjun’s family have expressed their wishes to retain their privacy at this difficult time.
