Nottingham Trent Women record huge FA Women’s Cup win to reach second qualifying round

Nottingham Trent University’s women’s football team have reached the second qualifying round of the Women’s FA Cup with a huge 10-0 win away to Hinckley Ladies.

The women’s team, who are in the competition for just the second time in their history having debuted in the historic tournament last season, made the short trip across the county border to take on Hinckley.

And the girls in pink eased into the next round of the cup with a comfortable victory in their first-ever away match in the competition.

Jess Phillips, Julia Kings, and Ellie McKeegan gave the visitors the advantage following a dominant first-half performance.

Rosie Bevs and Lizzie Stocks added further goals after the break, whilst Kings found the net another two times to complete her hat-trick.

And the result was put well beyond doubt when Alice Rogers joined in on the action with three goals in the final 20 minutes.

Teams from the Women’s Super League – the top tier of women’s football in England – do not enter the competition until the Fourth Round,

The Women’s team are back in action with a 2pm kick-off on Sunday, September 19, away to Notts County Development in the East Midland Women’s Regional Football League Division 1 North.

In the next round of the Women’s FA Cup, those in Pink will welcome Bugbrooke St Michaels from Northamptonshire to Nottingham at the Clifton Campus 3G pitch.
