If you’re like us, food is one of the most important things in your life. If we aren’t munching, we are planning what we are next about to eat! At uni this hunger will times about 3 because of the exhausting mix of lectures, naps and nights out… trust us, it really builds up an appetite!
To help you along with that daunting task of going food shopping for the first time, here’s a list of essentials you’ll need to stock up on:
1 x 6 pack of eggs
1 x a packet of chicken/frozen fish
1 x 2 litres of milk
1 x packet of cereal/ crumpets – your choice of breakfast
1 x packet of noodles
1 x packet of frozen veg
1 x packet of cheese
1 x loaf of bread
1 x pack of butter
1 x packet of rice
1 x packet of pasta and pasta sauce
Spices – paprika, for example, makes the blandest food tasty
Fruit – please your mum and dad…
Alcohol and mixer – …to not please your mum and dad! (I would recommend ALDI vodka as the cheapest yet still drinkable)
A little tip would be to plan your meals at the start of the week, so you can use ingredients for lots of different dishes. This will save you money in the long run… Especially for those all-important Ocean Wednesdays!
