There is nothing better than going out for a nice meal and a few drinks with friends. Luckily, Nottingham has lots of choice in this category and there are some great deals to suit a student budget. Here is our guide to the latest cheap eats available in the city.
1. Tamatanga
A modern India restaurant located behind the corner house in Trinity Square with a range of menus and a lot to offer! Get there before 6pm Monday to Tuesday for a meal with a drink for just £9.95. They also offer a vegan and gluten free menu!

2. Maysum
Get an all you can eat Chinese buffet at Maysum for £8.25 (if you get there before 5pm Sunday to Friday!) The restaurant is only a short walk away from Old market Square on Upper Parliament Street.

3. The Bodega
This venue has both an indoor seated club/bar and an outside socially-distanced beer garden. Bodega is extremely student friendly and very reasonably priced, offering two cocktails for £9 during sociable hours. It is also conveniently located less than a five minute walk from the Lace Market tram stop!

4. Cucamara
A cocktail bar with amazing deals! If you’re out for drinks on a budget, Cucamara is the place for you. Here, you can purchase tequila slammers and homemade shots for just £1.50, or you may fancy a cocktail with a shot and a bomb for only £5!

5. Zaap Thai
Thai food with a greak downtown Bangkok atmosphere! At Zaap Thai, you can get a fantastic 10% Student discount Monday to Thursday.

6. World Kitchen at NTU
Head to the Newton building to see what NTU’s own world kitchen has to offer! A delicious burrito or chinese for £4.50 on its own or just £6.50 with two sides and a drink. World Kitchen is open from 8.30 until 3.30 pm.

7. McDonalds
Everyone knows McDonalds is quick and cheap when it comes to food. But, not everyone knows that if you have a valid student card, you can get a free cheeseburger, chicken mayo burger McFlurry with any value or wrap meal!

8. Bella Italia
A reasonably priced Italian with a range of options including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. Student deals are available Monday to Wednesday, including 50% off pizza or pasta and 2 for 1 cocktails from noon!
