Beat The Streets announce first artists to be added to their 2023 line up

Over 15,000 tickets sold and £320,000 raised, Beat The Streets is one of Nottingham’s unmissable festivals taking place on January 29. 

The DHP family announced the first wave of artists for the charity fundraiser Beat The Streets. the festival is Frameworks biggest partner led fundraising event for the vital funds they provide Framework Housing Association and the awareness it has brought the charity working to end the homelessness crisis across Nottingham.

The festival has artists performing at major music venues like Rock City, Rescue Rooms and The Bodega.

The festival first launched in 2018 and has become a memorable event in the Nottingham calendar. The fundraiser event brings music lovers together and supports the crucial work Framework do with all profits from ticket, bar and merchandise sales going to the charity.

On behalf of Framework, Head of Fundraising and Communications, Claire Eden, said:

“There could never be a better time to raise funds to help people who are homeless and to provide additional mental health support for people who need it most”.

Beat The Streets supports local artists and gives them a platform, artists who have since gone on to great things include Jake Bugg, Saint Raymond, Sleaford Mods and Do Nothing.

Ferocious Dog are a folk-punk band based in Nottingham who will be headlining the festival. They blend genres to create dynamic music perfect for mosh pits. The band have supported the festival since its launch and encourage fans to bring food donations to their shows as they work to support homeless charities.

Lawnmower Deth formed in Nottingham in 1987 and are known for their punk-charged performances with a discography tracing back to 1990. The bands punk vocals and powerful instrumentals make for a mighty performance.

British hardcore group, Palm Reader, create impassioned metal music with a growing fanbase after the success of their third album, Braille, which was highly commended by progressive metal fans. The Nottingham band’s chaotic nature is sure to have people on their feet.

Alt blk era are a prime example of Beat The Streets’ focus on exciting, upcoming local musicians. The sister duo unconventionally combines genres including rap and heavy metal with distinct heavy basslines and strings. The creative duo won Music Future Sound of Nottingham this year and performed at Splendour Festivals main stage.

Girlband are an exciting trio who have an array of stellar songs to showcase at the festival who only formed in April this year. Recently, they were approached by BBC Radio Nottingham presenter, Dean Lewis, to join the BBC Introducing in the East Midlands line up at Metronome. The band combine effortless drumming and guitars to match the bold vocals by lead singer, Geordie.

Over 25 artists have already been announced with many more to come before the big day.
