Dot To Dot Festival Guide

Dot To Dot Festival is returning to Nottingham on May 28 for a jam-packed line-up including Cucamaras and Midnight Rodeo across the city’s most beloved venues.

Over 200 artists will be taking to stages for the metropolitan day event which takes place over consecutive days in Bristol (27 May) and Nottingham (28 May).

Fresh talent including Yard Act, Alvvays, The Murder Capital, Finn Foxxell and High Vis will be in attendance as well as secret sets and after parties to keep the good vibes coming!

Dot To Dot celebrates the best upcoming artists introducing them to music lovers across the weekend.

The festival has hosted recognised names like Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Foals, The 1975 and many more artists who have gone on to greatness.

With first and second tier sold out, final wave tickets are on sale from £30 for a day of partying and live music across the May Bank Holiday.

Venue capacities do however mean it’s better to rock up early rather than late to ensure you don’t miss your favourite acts.

A collection of venues spanning the city will host emerging musicians from The Bodega, Rescue Rooms, Rock City, The Level, Rough Trade and more.

The music festival’s success has been recognised with nominations including Best Small Festival and Best Metropolitan Festival at the UK Festival Awards 2022.

Midnight Rodeo are a six piece “woozy surf pop” group who will be debuting Dot To Dot this year.

Maddy Chamberlain formed the group just before lockdown with her “favourite people and favourite musicians.”

Maddy said: “The Nottingham music scene is amazing, the local artists all support one another and other cities have competition but here people try to build them up and same for venues who provide lots of opportunities.”

Jiminil said: “(it is) exciting to play with our mates bands and have a big old bank holiday party!”

Their newest single ‘The Big Melt’ “goes down really well to have a little Brazilian street party to” added Jiminil.

Midnight Rodeo’s refreshing music elevates spirits with their melting pot of styles and influences making for an unmissable set.

The band are excited to watch Opus Kink, Cucamaras, Blood Wizard, Girlband, Wombo and Divorce take to the stage.

Definitely watch out for Midnight Rodeo’s set, as well as their upcoming tune ‘Thank You For Your Time’ and an album in the near future.

Cucamaras are no strangers to Dot To Dot having already performed at the buzzing festival three times.

The post-punk band have made a name for themselves across their hometown supporting bands including The Amazons and headlining Rescue Rooms.

Their unique sound has opened a lot of doors for them including recognition from NME who named them one of the top 100 essential emerging artists of the year.

Josh Hart said: “As a Nottingham artist it is a staple to conquer Dot To Dot to get anywhere in Nottingham really.

“We always pick up a lot of new fans on the day.”

Daniel McGrath said: “It’s always good fun and we always look forward to it.”

The group named ‘Safe Bet’, ‘Winner’s Chapel’ and ‘Keep It Cool’ as just some of the many songs which “always get people moving and catalysts for carnage.”

Cucamaras are most excited to watch Divorce, Yard Act, The Murder Capital and Alvvays

So make sure to get your tickets in advance.

Enjoy a day packed with an incredible line-up and good vibes!
