Jah Digga Interview: A “pleasure” to support Teenage Cancer Trust

Jah Digga and Kingdom Rapper join the line-up for fundraiser, This Is Nottingham, for Teenage Cancer Trust.

The two new acts will be supporting headliner Bru-C at Nottingham’s upcoming music event launched by Line Of Duty star, Vicky McClure.

Vicky McClure was announced as the first Teenage Cancer Trust Icon this October and initiated this project with support from the Confetti Media Group who have donated the Metronome venue for the event on Saturday, December 3.

This Is Nottingham is being held to fund the vital work Teenage Cancer Trust does by supporting young people with cancer aged 13 to 24 across the UK.

Headliner, Bru-C, said: “I am so excited to play this event.

“I’m excited because it’s in Nottingham, 10 minutes from my house!”

He added: “It’s for a good cause, it’s for Vicky, it’s for Nottingham City, our family.

“So make sure you are there!”

Jah Digga is a spoken word performer, podcaster and rapper from St Ann’s.

The performer said: “It is a pleasure to be added to the bill.

“It is a beautiful thing to be helping Teenage Cancer Trust, it is a good cause to spread awareness for and to spread a positive light on as it is such an important topic.”

He discussed the difference in performing in Nottingham compared to other cities stating:

“100% it feels different.”

“Home is home, this is our house, our place.”

He adds: “Performing in Nottingham definitely has an extra feel to it as we can all vibe together. Performing in Nottingham is a special thing to me.”

The rapper described Nottingham as: “Very vibrant, very creative, full of talent. Nottingham is a small city but it has masses of talent and creativity.

“I am lucky to be part of this wave of creatives and put our name on the map and let the rest of the UK know that we are here as a city.”

When discussing the local support he has had across his career he said: “People resonate with realness and push what they resonate with.

“The Nottingham community has definitely helped me put my message across and put my name on a platform so we are growing together.”

“I will be playing one or two songs from the latest EP at the event but I have other material I want to play because of the event and what it is about.

“I want to touch on certain topics because it is for charity and we are spreading awareness I want to touch on certain moods.”

Kingdom Rapper said: “This is going to be an amazing night, showcasing some great talent.

“The fact this event is supporting such a great cause is the best reason to get involved.

“It will be a great night of Nottingham music.”
