Nottingham’s biggest local musicians

Nottingham’s music scene has flourished over the years with numerous local artists achieving immense success from award-winning albums to headlining tours.

Here are some of Nottinghams finest musicians:

Jake Bugg was born in Clifton and rose to fame with his debut album with classic indie tunes Lightning Bolt and Two Fingers .

The self titled album was his first number one in the UK charts and provided him a Mercury Prize Award nomination, the debut album is celebrating its ten year anniversary this year.

The indie folk singer and guitarist has gone on to support the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Lana Del Ray.

His latest project was music for the feature documentary Ronaldinho: The Happiest Man In The World.

Jake Bugg will be returning to his hometown to perform at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on Saturday, November 26.

Amber Run met at the University of Nottingham and created an array of EPs leading up to their debut album in 2015 5AM.

The bands biggest song to date I Found has over 200 million plays on Spotify.

They have released five albums which have gained them a loyal fanbase alongside sold out global tours.

London Grammar met whilst studying at the University of Nottingham.

Their debut album If You Wait consisted of Ivor Novello awarded single Strong.

The trio have created hits like Hey Now and Wasting My Young Years giving them a following.

This July the band supported Coldplay on their Music Of The Spheres World Tour.

Young T & Bugsey are a duo who grew up in Nottingham and been mates since the age of fifteen.

They have collaborated with hip hop artists including Aitch for their tune Strike a Pose which made the UK Charts Top Ten.

Their second album Truth Be Told was released last January and the duo have gained over 2 million Spotify monthly listeners.
